this is the kind of crap agency's love putting on their reel. glitzy high production quality, “ballsy” stuff. however, i think it misses the mark and delivered a somewhat straight, literal interpretation of the brief and tweaked-it in a way that made the creative team laugh so hard that milk came running out of their noses. hey, i like to see hot, dirty, sticky coal-mining girls as much as the next guy, but this didn't do anything for me to think GE was making a difference in providing a solution to our depleting energy resources. major fail.
I didn't really understand what the ad was trying to say. Having not seen the ad now in a week, the key message I take away from that is that COAL IS SEXY. Which is completely nonsensical and dumb. Maybe that was the message in the remit.
Embarrassingly cliched & obvious… but somehow pretty damn hot anyway.
